merc c180k?

a 2003 merc c180k idling fault sits at traffic lights idles erratically at 1200 slowly rising to 1800 rpm then drops quickly back to 1200 then starts rising again. or sometimes idles around 800rpm and like runs on 3 but takes throttle no probs?
