The fan is controlled by the engine ECU, it energise's a relay(top row first from left) when the coolant temp sensor ( rear of the engine underthe inlet mainfold) output reaches a preset level, this sensor also gives the indication on the dash, so if the gauge is reading normal the sensor is OK and either the relay has failed to energise or the fuse either 21 or 34 30amp has fused
