I don"t know how to start a old sofolk punch can anyone help please.

This is assuming it's a very early one fitted with the 75G cast iron engine. 80's & 90's models were fitted with the black painted engine block A98/A114 alloy engine which uses different carbs and a different starting proceedure.

How old is it and what colour is the engine block painted. Is the air filter in a pllastic housing on the back of the carb or does it slide on a round inlet on the bottom of the carb?

Pull the petrol tap under the tank out, depress the spung loaded screw on top of he carb several times until fuel shows at the over flow, lift the choke lever at the bottom of the carb up, gird your loins and pull on the starter handle till she fires up
