Hi
If coolant is dissapearing you need to find where its going-Check engine oil for emulsification-Dip oil-if its milky then it looks like a blown head gasket or maybe a cracked head-further investigation would be needed. Is there a coolant leak from anywhere externally on the engine? look for damp patches on engine or damaged hoses. If there is a sign of leakage replace or repair as needed.

if you have no leaks, and your thermostat is opening, probably head gasket
