battery warning light ford fiesta 2003 1300?

battery warning light is on constantly, drives ok, no noise from engine.

check the drive belt is intact, is it tensioned correctly, Next you need to test the alternator output voltage across the battery terminals,with a DMM meter you do this with the engine running, you are looking for 14 - 14.5 dc volts,output, anything under this suspect the alternator brushes or regulator, a exchange unit is required .
