How can I get to my spark plugs?

I've just bought a Ford Mondeo 1997 which tends to 'hiccup' a little when starting from a stationary position. I thought I'd check the plugs for gap settings, condition etc only to find that the leads were seized on all of them,so preventing me from checking them. Do you know how I might release them?

YES YOU CAN REMOVE BUT IT WILL BE WISE TO BUY A NEW SET FIRST FROM FORD DEALER OR ANY SHOP . THEN INSTALL LONG NOSE PLIERS AND PULL AND EASE OFF GENTLY THIS WILL REMOVE THESE BUT BEFORE YOU REMOVE MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE FIRING ORDER CORRECT NUMBER PLUG LEADS FROM TIMING END FIRST I USALLY GO DRIVERS SIDE CAR FIRST PLUG LEAD WILL BE NO1 THEN SECOND NO 2 DO THIS AND YOU WONT GO WRONG IF ANY PROBLEMS EMAIL ME V_FOSBERRY@MSN.COM

Sometimes if they are cheaper plug wires you can`t help but break them.
Might be a good idea to replace the plugs and plug wires as a set.....alot of times a plug will breal down and the fire has nowhere to go and ruins the plug wires and coil too

hold the lead as close the the rocker cover as you can & twist the leads as u pull them pull them
