my veritas 8c alarm system started beeping twice a min yesterday. someone said it needed new battery. A neighbour put the new battery in then pressed some buttons before i could stop him. Now red lights are lit and continuous noises (not the alarm) sound as soon as battery/power is reinstated. now I cannot reset it and do not know what he has done. Even with no battery or electricity the alarm system still beeps.

It's a battery operated smoke detector that's making the beeping, not the alarm.
