Two stroke with no spark?

Hi
Thanks to Adam for his reply,
I have checked all things on my 50 cc engine, disconnected the on/ off switch, I am getting an indication of voltage out of the spark plug cable when I rotate the flywheel but still no spark when I fit the plug and earth the plug to the engine casing.
What should my spark plug gap be, is this critical. If it is to small will I get a spark??
As I am getting a voltage indication could the condenser be faulty??

check the ignition system behind the fly wheel, are there points or a few coils of wire?if there are coils of wire check resistances on the pulse unit ,source coil,ht coil primary secondary windings on the coil ,if possible get a haynes manual for the bike, there sh*t hot

if it has a condenser then its a good possiblilty thats its faulty they do give alot of trouble ,the plug gap size is not a problem it will pretty much spark anywhere between .25 mm to 1mm but should be set at approx .5 mm.if its got a condenser then its going to have points too so they may well be causing a problem too check they are clean and they are set at aprrox .25 gap when they are open ok good luck mate
