my dyson has stopped sucking as the brushes are not going round?

my dyson dc14 cyclone has stopped sucking when in the upright position, it appears that the brushes are not moving round.

The rubber belt that helps the brushes to go around might need replacing

have you checked hose for any blockage best way is to remove it and blow down
also try cleaning the filters (if washable) or replacing them
also if you can clean the turbine unit this will greatly enhance the suction.
i usally pour in hot water and shake a few times untill the mucky water turns clear. some people like to wash it in a bath of hot soapy water.
but please be sure it is dry before re using let it stand next to a radiator overnight or using a hairdryer.
