I have the same machine, just recieved it as a hand-me down.
I replaced the primer, and I get spark, but I found that the START/STOP switch was shorted, this means the wire is connected making a one complete wire. When shorted, the charge goes streight to ground, so make sure your wires are not touching anything metal when trying to start.
I am trying to figure out how to get the clutch/drive off the motor shaft so I can use a drill to turn-to-start the motor, as I have a sore now from pulling (-:
