How can I fix the horn on my chevy truck?

My horn stopped working on my 1981 chevy C10 pickup after I installed a new blinker switch, how can I fix the horn without taking the whole steering column apart again. I bot a horn button but it has no instructions and the Haynes Manual doesnt address anything about the horn. I cannot even tell where the actual horn is.

laura, the horn is usually placed to the lower front passenger side of all vehicles to test your horn take a live wire from the live side of the battery to the horn be carefull as the horn is already earthed if the horn is ok it will sound then you know it is a wirering problem,to fit the new horn switch you will need to run a wire from one side of the switch, making it long enough to reach the battery about 6inches from the battery cut the wire insert an in line fuse[you can get these from your local motorfactors] connect to the battery then from the other side of the horn switch run a wire to the horn unit this will bypass the old horn switch as long as the horn unit is working you should be fine if the horn unit is not working then replace the horn unit it self.good luck
