hi is it the regulator that runs the lights on a vivacity?

is it the regulator that runs the lights on a vivacity 50cc

pecavvi the lights on this model do NOT run off the battery they run off the generator to be precsie the run of the lighting coil in the generator as i described below and also they are ac NOT DC like a batterys current(ac) being alternating current which is what a generator produces.

Lights will be powered from the battery - so you can have the lights on without the engine running.

I know nothing about motorcycles - I last owned one in 1986

the generator creqates the current for the lights from a lighting coil then it sends it up to the regulator/rectifier and that regulates the ac current to around 14.4volts and rectifies the ac current to the battery to dc while ,the lighting side of it is just regulated by the reg/rec not rectified too like the current it defers to the battery to charge it.so in a word the regulator can cause loss of lighting power and so can the generator also lighting switches and wiring and bulbs can too.
