my water pump is broken how much would a new one cost and how does it affect my car if broken please

you could get one from a good scrappy for about £15/£20, or for a new one you will need to contact your nearest motor factors, give them car reg number and they will tell you.
running a car with a broken water pump is a no-no, as it pumps the water around keeping engine cool, major damage will occur if you do use your car, get it changed before using your car again.
