fitting cambelt?

when fitting a new cambelt in which direction does the engine run also how much tenstion should be applied the car is a 1.4 206 petrol

if you mean a peugeot 206 then according to my haynes manual, engine rotates in a clockwise direction only. and to tension the belt properly you need special tool. this is for cars up to 2001.
