My Kenmore sewing machine 148.13101 just stopped working. ?

Since this machine will not run unless the light bulb is on and the bulb appears to be burnt out, I am wondering if it would work if I replaced it. The problem is I can't take the bulb out! Is this a screw on bulb or the kind that slips in? I would like to take it out so I can identify the type of replacement, but I'm afraid to break it.

Hello Maria,
It is most likely to be a screw type, because the bulb gets hot when in use it may be difficult to unscrew, you need to break the bulb and then get a pair of pliers on the metal bit to unscrew it if it is very tight but make sure the plug is out first.
