how to change roller belt on Hoover Elite vacuum?

how do I change roller belt on Hoover Elite vacuum
Seathrun, June 2006
There are no screws on the bottom of my Hoover Elite, but we did change the belt.

Take the bottom off by prying where the molded arrow and screwdriver are clearly shown. Then take the roller off, then the cover. This is hard to do as there's no hint of it on the vacuum. To get at the motor and the spindle that drives the belt the cover must come off. The trick is to pry the outside of the top cover off by having the bottom up, and prying the sides out at a point about one third of the way toward the back shen measuring the side from the front side. This is roughtlly the same area as that which releases the bottom peice initially removed. When the side is pried out it can be removed. Need so so that on both sides. When you do the height adjustment roller may come off as the slider indicator must be seperated since it is above the top piece.

I have a Hoover Elite vacuum cleaner and finally found the way to change the belt. There are two screws in the bottom that comes out, you then pry the cover off with a screwdriver to expose the belt area. Put the belt on the brush, stick it through the hole and pull it to the little holder that sticks out of the vacuum. It is found on the right side of the vacuum cleaner if you lay it upside down with the brush closet to you. Hope this helps you.
