starts first time every time, however once running it just doesnt run right, its as if thers a problem getting fuel through or something.. revs high then low etc.. been bought second hand and aparently has been sitting, has a bit of fuel in but iv topped it right up with fresh.. any ideas?

Change the diaphragm and look on Youtube for the video "Change mountfield dipahragm" £3.50 for the part 795083 is the part number for the 470 range.

Had same issue with mine last year. I cleaned out the carb etc to no avail. Replaced the diaphram (sits between carb & fuel tank) and runs sweet as a nut again There was a minor leak in diaphram). Parts were cheap as chips from www.briggsbits.co.uk/ . Only took me 20 mins to change.
