206cc hydraulic roof problem?

i have a 2001 206 cc.This problem is a tricky one which is driving me round the bend!!!please help and advise if possible.
the roof is infunctionable at the mo as i had to put it up manually after it got stuck in the down position.i descovered a hydraulic fluid leak from one of the bootlid rams where it connects with the pipes.i have had a couple of people look at it who apparently are good mechanics but noone is to keen to help?im thinking maybe this could be a seal or washer perished at the connecting point but im not a mechanic so i could well be wrong.has anyone ever experienced this problem or can offer advise.Very gratefull.

Hi Im having a problem with a 2002 206cc power roof hood. The roof was working fine. And yesterday decided to stop for some reason! The internal roof clips usually make a binging sound when opened but this has stopped? When I undo the luggage cover and press the roof open/close button it just makes a beeping sound on the dash! Can anyone Help please?

Mumen, I think I have the same problem as you described with the shelf ram. The hydraulic shelf ram is leaking and I think I would need to replace the seals by myself as I can't find anyone who can do so. The Peugeot garage can only replace the whole shelf cylinder unit which costs a huge amount of money.
I don't have any experience with repairing or replacing a seal in a ram, but I think I'll be able to find out how to do it. But how can you get the exact same size of the seals needed for this ram? Are these seals using coming sizes/dimensions? Or do you need to get them custom made? I guess the Peugeot garage wouldn't be able to provide these seals as they would simply say you need to replace the whole unit (and not just only the ram).

I have a similar problem but one of the pips on the boot ram cracked...so I used a joining peace from a local hydraulics place filled the fluid back up on the pump but still the roof will not work...I took it to my main dealer and they happily took £53.00 pounds of me to tell me that it's going to cost me a wopping £300 pounds more for more diognostics, that's without the repair of the roof...there must be away around these people ripping you or like this?!??

I had the same problem with the shelf ram and was able to open it and replace the seal, you may try the same before you spend hundreds of bounds..nothing to lose.
no one would bother himself trying to fix a hydraulic ram for you,but you can do it by your self.

i have the same problem with my 206, i took it into my local peugeot dealers who tell me i need new roof hydraulic fluid pipes + ram, the problem is the seals, however peugeot only supply them as a complete unit and as such the cost of getting it done was quoted as £970.00 !!
