Hi, i dont know much about washing machines. So, the drum is not spinning and I have taken the top cover off and checked the belt. It is fine. I can only presume that it is the motor that makes the drum spin, which has the problem. Although because of my lack in knowledge for washing machines. I do not know. If you could shed any light on this and possibly even give me help to fix it. That would be great. Thank you
Not necessarily the carbon brushes. Is there any water still in the drum? If there is it will not go into spin mode and it therefore means you have a blockage somewhere. Check the pump filter, if you have one, firstly.

Dave,
It sounds like the carbon brushes on your motor need to be replaced, have a look at this website www.apart4u.co.uk, it shows you short video clips on how to carry out this sort of repair.
