How can I stop thread breaking in my Frisser and Rossman Overlocker?

I have a Frisser and Rossman Overlocker. One of the needle threads keeps breaking. I have adjusted the tension but to no avail. Can anyone suggest how I can remedy this problem.

Your starting point with this kind of problem should be change the needles.Once you have fresh needles in your machine check the machine is correctly threaded & you have no fluff collected between the tension disc's.If this fails to eliminate the problem you should check the point of the left hand looper situated under the needles ensuring the point is not rough. If you find you have a rough point gently remove the burrs using emery cloth.Set all your tension units to between 3 & 4 and set the first 6 or so stiches turning the machine by hand.

Thanks for the advice. It is so frustrating though trying to adjust the tension so as not to break a thread and still get a correct stitch. I am afraid I do not have the patience so I think I might try and find a much simpler machine!

Hello Elizebeth,
It will be tension problem and all you can do is keep adjusting until you get it right.
