with key at (p) for PRICES PRESS 121 sub total then press plu button to change enter 1st price x/time then second price x/time (TOTAL) TO FINISH .
to enter plu text (item name) PRESS 122 sub total press plu button to change enter text using program sheet then x/time (TOTAL) TO FINISH .
if button wont work you will need to do this job
with key at (p) enter 100 st press plu button & enter 0 x/time or 00000000 x/time( dont think you have to enter the eight zeros one zero should work i think )(TOTAL) TO FINISH .

Jono,

Registerman is correct the 6500 is very old and the new replacement is the SPS-2000 it is much easier for a customer to add items to this model. The 6500 has 3 steps to program the description price and character +-tax non tax etc.

The 6500 is an old machine now. The 6500II is more common. I know the 6500 manual had good flow charts for programming, but I can't find my info as I haven't had to touch one for some time now.
If Steve is reading this, maybe he can help with the codes. Otherwise, pop over to C-tech and grab a manual here:
