I can turn the fire on and then the heat on 0/1 but it’s not warm enough. I try to turn on to 1/11 but that doesn’t work on my remote anymore. How can I fix the remote to get the higher heat please. Hope you can help, many thanks

Kerry Shaw, July 2019
I have a villager but it has the same remote as the yct-100.
I couldn't switch the fire on from the remote. Changed the fuse on the fire plug but still nothing.
Did the remote fix as suggested by Mike Evans and Alan R and it works but you do have to wait the 20 mins for it to work. Absolutely delighted!!

Thank you Alan R. You have just fixed my fire.

Flamerite fires are fairly rubbish. I have also had 3 circuit boards in my fire. At £55 a time I have now given up with it and it is just an ornament in the wall now. The owner is called David Watts and he is not a particulary pleasant man to deal with. He more or less told me they are made to a price and this is what you must expect.

I have a problem with my Flamerite 172/180 Electric Fire. All of a sudden it stopped working. I had a spare Flamerite ERX20 Circuit Board which I have replaced, but it still does not work. Should the DIP settings be the same. One my old board it was on off off on. I have done the remote thing as per Alan R, but no joy.

Fault rectified with a replacement PCB direct from Flamerite. The PCB came with a new remote control at a total cost of £62 including VAT and postage.

Hi
Please can you help me. I have a Flamerite Fire model YCT-102. The remote control is not working properly. The only thing it will do is switch the fire on for two seconds when I press the flame button, then it goes off and will not do it again until I switch the fire on manually then off. The on off remote switch does nothing. Please can you help. I have fitted a new battery.

I have tried resetting my remote, as although the fire lit up, there was no heat.

Now the fire won't even light up. It is dead!
Are we at the point of a new circuit board?

Can anyone help please?

Identified:- Three faults on remote controlled fire. Model 86
1. On PCB, triac gate-cathode short circuit fire will not come on at all. Replace with BTA08 600C about £1 to buy from RS
2. On mains connector neutral wire slight corroded, strip back and reconnect
3. Short range control. RF receiver out of tune, space out the turns on the big coil a bit
These cures worked for me. If you are not sure about tackling these faults yourself, buy a new PCB

Henry, August 2012
my flamerite sonata just stoped working just after a year - tried fuse, new remote battery etc any ideas ???

jalag, November 2011
i fixed my flamerite fire, the variable resistor was faulty, so the lights kept flickering, so i removed the light circuit and circulator fan from the circuit board, and rewired them into a seperate switch which I fitted under the fire, at the same time I changed the 4 60w filament bulbs to 4 low energy bulbs, so saving 200w + in use, this modification cost nothing, and saves electric, the heater still works on the remote control, flamerite quoted me £85 callout charge plus £60 parts, i an very happy now with the way the fire works

rob coates, October 2011
it worked for me,cheers, saved me the cost of a new fire!

Sean, August 2011
Does anyone know where i can get an electrical diagram for the yct 100?

ben, February 2011
any idea where one could purchase a new reciever/circuit board??

Jimmy T, January 2011
First reset the fire by switching it off at its own on/off switch, and the mains switch at the socket.

Next reset the remote: undo the Philips screw on the back and prize ip the circuit board, then turn it over, keeping the battery in place. There is a slide switch on the back; move it all the way to the left, pause, then all the way to the right, pause again (10 seconds) then move it about a third of the way to the left until it drops into a detente. Carefully reassemble, keeping the battery in place. If this doesn't work, you probably need a new circuit board (receiver) in the fire. Probably costs about £60. Good luck.

Hi,my fire comes on 4 a second then goes of again,i changed fuses but no luck,is there a trip on the fire itself?thanks

David., December 2010
I have similar problem.
Mine switches on but when I try turn on heat II it knocks off, does blow any fuses or trips. When i put trip up and down it will come back on.
Now recently this has started happening when i turn on heat I.

Any further help?

Pat, November 2010
sue,

we have same problem as you. flamerite told us to check the remote as follows: switch fire off at mains, take the back off the remote and inside there is a black switch. slide it to the left and then to the right and then click left. leave for 20 mins and then try all frequencies. this didn't work for us but its worth a try. good luck
