Rover 25 , door locked and wont unlock or open ? I HAVE THE SALUTION ?
My Rover 25 passenger door just jamed and wouldn't open . The lock would not release . I looked on all the forums for help and there seemed some drastic choices . From smashing this and that . Time was running out as the mot is due . I took it to my local garage , and they scratched there heads . They started by trying to insert a rod between the window and door and within 10 min they had smashed the window . 2 hours later they had removed the passenger seat and pulled the door panel off braking the inside door handel in the prosses . I had a phone call the following morning to say that they had spent another hour scratching there heads and its still isn't open , But they needed it out the way as they had other jobs to get on with and would i collect it . They havn't at this time asked me for any money , but as i'm looking at a lot more exspence to get back to square one ( ABOUT £65 FOR SECOND HAND PARTS ). I drove it home parked it on the drive , and decided to have a look myself . Would you belive within 5 min i had the door open without any damage and that included scratching my head and thinking it carn't be that hard . So knowing what i know now . I could open the door without any damage to any part of the car . And if you are quite agile my even get away without removing the seat .
