gearbox problem?

hi i have a astra 1.6 gls saloon i am have trouble whith my auto gearbox i cannot get 1st gear all the other gears are ok can anybody help

Proper auto or automated manual? If its proper auto disconnect linkage at the lever on top of the box. If there is full travel in the car the faults in the box and viceversa. Kids poke coins in the selector slot. Assuming adjustment is correct.
