I found (on a different model) that pushing down on the tape after it is pulled back into the machine and while the gears are working prevents this error. When the cover is closed and the tape operated, the error came again but by stuffing a rag, paper towel, rubber from a bicycle inner tube or anything that pushed down on the tape when the door is closed prevented the error. So do both - 1) push down before closing and 2) suff rag to push down after closing. Works for me. I hope it works for you if you have the same problem.
