How do you change a radiator in a 1993 Vauxhall cavalier 1.8 manual, petrol?

As above
Barry, August 2010
Unclip the wires on the back of the fan, then unsrew the top two screws holding the fan casing. The fan will then lift out.
This gives clear access to the clip on the bottom hose which you pull off to drain the rad. Collect the coolant, and dispose, or keep for re-use.
Remove the top hose and return hose from either side of the top of the rad.
Unclip the wires to the temperature sensor half way down on the offside of the rad.
Remove the spring clips which hold the top of the radiator in place.Use pliers to compress the middle of the clip to clear it from its location slots, or a couple of screwdrivers (one to move the top of the clip to the centre of the top locating slot, and the other to push the top of the clip through the hole).
Push the top of the rad towards the engine to clear it from the locating brackets, then lift it out.
Unscrew the temperature sensor from the old rad, and screw it into the new one.
Pull the rubber bushes off the old rad top spigots to use on the new one.
Fitting is the reverse of the above.

Semi, September 2010
take off bottom hose and collect coolant, and discard of correctly, take rest of hose's off, heater plug, and if memory serves, just take the small holding screws of the top panels and it should lift straight out.

hope it helps, August 2010
