high revs when at a stand still?

i have an aprillia rs 125 in good working order but when i come to a stop it revs on its own does anyone no what the problem could be would appreciate advice

could be
1. stuck/jammed throttle cable, is it jamming somewhere check for catches.
2. Carb sticking. Needle and slide (if you had your carb apart then this may not be in correctly)

that is about it. It wil be something silly!
