How do I change the brusghes on an Aquarius WMA31?

I've changed the brushes on sevreal other models of Hotpoint washing mashings and they have all been the same.

On this machine, they seem to be located at the bottom of this machine and they look completely different and I can't get them out.

Can somebody give me the easiest way of changing them?

Hmmm.. Removing the motor will most likely cause you other problems... e.g.if you don't can the belt tension right wehen you put it back, the belt will eather slip or put additional load on the drum (and motor) bearings which will lead to a very costly repair (or trip to the hole in the ground otherwise known as the landfill site).

Most motors that have replaceable brushes can have them changed in situ and either clip in and out or are retained by a single screw on each brush. It can be a little fiddly but it's worth the perseverence.

The easiest way to do this is to remove the motor from the appliance. The brushes are in plastic holders, each is retained by 2 screws. The holders can be replaced in their entirety or can be split open and new inserts fitted after removal.
Pull the plug first.
