Any ideas what it can be? I have cleaned the filter and condenser. It is a hotpoint cdt40g.

There is no leak and the water container was filling up normally. Is there some kind of heating element or thermostat that could be the problem?

it could be the float switch thats located at the back of the machine near the floor on the right hand side looking from the rear,it can stick down with fluff and stuff,so it wont trip the pump to empty water into the condenser,this is accompanied by a leak,check it out,be sure to unplug the dryer
