Adjust alarm set sound length on Scantronic 9448?

When I set the alarm the length of the sound before it stops is excessive, can and how this be adjusted.

you can reset the panel yourself back to factory settings,to do this,remove mains feed to the panel,open the panel,remove the red lead from the battery,on the circuit board you will see two small pins,these are the reset pins,they are marked rst,place a small screw driver between then and apply the battery power,then mains,the system will load factory default user and engineers codes remove the screw driver,key in 1234,key in enter followed by 07890,you now must reprogramme your access codes,do not reset the system unless you have the engineering manual to reprogramme your system,it comes with a factory preset that can be used in most applications,to change the times,follow the alarm guy instructions,entry time ,43 enter,exit time 44 enter

It is highly likely the code will have been changed.
Give it one try.

This is how to get into engineers;
Press 0 Press Enter (put in code) the "DAY" light should go off, you are now in engineers.

If that does not work, it has been changed. To get the panel reset you will need an engineer to default the panel.

I have the engineers code from the instruction book but am worried this could have been changed. Is this a possibility. If it is entered incorrectly will it cause a problem or will I just not be able to adjust the exit time?

Stew R, August 2010
assuming you have the engineers code.
Enter code
Press 43 then Enter then 1 (10 seconds) Enter
2 (20 seconds) Enter
3 (30 seconds) Enter
4 (45 seconds) Enter

Then press 99 Enter

Job done
