Today the petrol gauge, speedo and temp gauge needles kept fluctuating and sometimes dropping off altogether but the car lost no power. Also, previously, the digital odemeter and clock would go blank and when I put the key in to start nothing happened. If I then opened and re-shut the door, it would come back on??

hi, I had a similar problm with my vauxhall. there is a lose connection somewher, i would firstly check near the battery. broken cable or bad connextion.
I would also check all the fueses are pushed in properly.
when you shut the door its probably the vibration that cause the fault to disapear. I would check when the problem ocurs again, open the bonnet and ask someone to keep hold of the key to start while you move few wires, if it starts you will knwo wher to start looking from. hope that helps
