Did renault change or update their engines for the 55 plate Renault Megane Expression 1.5 TDI?

I have the engine out of the car but the short engine i've bought isn't an exact match, and doesn't appear to be able to use the parts from the original engine.

if you need to change an engine or for that matter a gearbox, then you need to check the model numbers that are attached to them, either stamped on or on a small plate.to make sure that they are compatible with your car. and yes car makers do have the habit of changing engines just to confuse everybody.
