Vauxhall Zafira Central Locking and radio problem?

I have a problem which is just wierd. I have a Vauxhall zafira club (06 plate) and when i turned off the engine this evening and removed the key from the car, i found the warning alarm binging at me (the one you get if you leave your keys in the car or leave your lights on). Checked all the doors and they are all shut properly, but found that the key fob no longer locks any of the doors (or opens them). tried the spare key and same problem. Wierd thing is that the central locking button on the dash does lock the doors from the inside. Manualy inserting the key in the Drivers door only locks the drivers door and no other doors. Other wierd thing is that the radio no longer turns off when key is pulled from ignition either. I've checked the fuses, but suspect this may be a wiring fault. Anybody come across a similar problem.

Cheers

The problem is a small plunger in the ignition barrel that sticks, the ignition thinks the key is still in the barrel which stops the central locking from working off the fob, although the interior central locking button on the dash will still work like its supposed to, if your Radio/CD player is set to come on with the ignition then that will explain why you get the radio problem, to fix the problem spray a contact cleaner or WD40 into the barrel & work the key around to free the plunger, the key will have to go fully in, it can take a few minutes to work free. to prevent it happening again spray the ignition barrel with a cleaner once every 6 months or so

I have the same problem on an O6 plate. Had the car 6 months. Happened before and managed to get it repaired under warranty. However it has now gone again. Garage said it was a common fault and to do with the radio. I have fiddled with the radio and managed to get it to go off (swithching it off, ejecting the CD etc), but doesn't always work. Think it is more likely something to do with the ignition. Did you fix yours and how?
