on my washer (on any switch setting except one..."normal") the water runs constantly and thw washer doesn't fill up. it runs for hours and hours on end. Is it the main switch / timer that is not working right? it is a sears 70 series heavy duty. i do not have a model #, but it was purchased in 1997, if the date helps.

Is the water running out the drain when filling? if so the drain hose is probably too low, it needs to be higher than half the height of the drum before going into stand pipe or drain connection
