the dryer only heats slightly but takes at least 120mins to try socks and light garments. I have cleaned out the necessary parts but still not working

the heater has 2 elements in it and you would need to find out if both work.could be heater related,could be stat related,could be pcb related.not easy to diagnose without testing and watching it!.Have you removed the condensor at the bottom and flushed it through with a pressure washer or hose?
