faulty door lock. l.d.v. convoy?

The drivers door on my l.d.v. is not shutting on 1st try. It takes 2 sometimes 3 attempts to fully close to enable locking by the key. I believe the door was sprained when it shot open in a strong wind. Any ideas or is it a new door.?

you may need to put a couple of washers between striker plate and "b"post, washers about 1"od by 1/4"hole are just right .

sounds as if the hinges have been strained and the door is out of line, with the door open get a large say 1"1/4 socket and place it between the door and the door pillar where the hinges are mounted and exert pressure by trying to close the door, this tends to shove the hinges back to where they should be,know it sounds rough but if you take your time you wont damage anything and it is better than buying new hinges which are expensive for these, good luck
