pressing reset button to de-activate alarm instead of code veritas R8?

i seem to have a problem with my alarm system.
when i want to deactivate it i just press reset instead of my four pin number

If you press reset when the alarm is setting then it will disable alarm, but if the alarm is set, reset will not work. if it does you have a faulty panel
