My ford galaxy 05 TD keeps overheating?

I have a ford Galaxy that keeps overheating, the temperature guage goes from 90 to overheating in seconds, where should I start looking

Water pump impellors have been known to break of the shaft and not circulate the water.this requires the cam belt being removed to remove the water pump so engine will need locking up with timing pins.Cylinder head gasket failure has also been common and pressurises the water system

try giving the system a good flushing though, to clear out any crap. renew with clean coolant. check your thearmostat (take off, and put into pan of boiling water, if it opens, then ok). if ok then check your radiator fins are ok, check water pump is working.
