Chinese copy of a Honda engine- when they go wrong they are deemed to be at the end of their life- irrelevant of how trivial the problem. They are not designed to be repaired and subsequently very few components are available.
These engines cost the Chinese manufacturer £9.00 to produce and Mountfield pay £12.00 for them, so naturally you don't get a lot of quality, durability, reliability and longevity for £12 worth of engine.
Buy a mower with a recognised brand of engine manufacturer such as Honda or Briggs and Stratton and you won't have a problem regarding aftersales backup.
