If the drum rotates easily by hand, it's most likely a broken belt.
If the drum is very stiff or fixed, it could be a lump of compacted fluff wedged between the front edge of the drum and the drum's felt bearing strip. That was my problem.

I did the same job for my mother yesterday. Unfortunately, her partner had decided to try and do the job from the back(impossible) and left top and sides off in the damp. Now I have to take it apart again and see why the motor doesn't go Urghh.. As with the right Royal pain of getting the belt on the drive spindle (my words were much different to that !), I found easiest way was to use a bit of wood (roofing batten dimensions ) about foot long, slide under belt flat, twist on to edge and then lever belt on. It went on quite easy once i got the technique.

If belt has snapped easy to find out, just unscrew the two screw at top on the back and pull top towards the back, it should then lift off. If it has snapped there will be no belt around the drum. The belt on my same dryer cost me £15 from local appliance spare place in town. Took around twenty minutes to change. Just un screwed sides and loosened front of dryer to let it drop down put new belt around drum aIn same place as before, there will be marks, and used a screw driver to force it on the rail on end of the motor( was a royal pain in the butt) then vacuumed all the dust and screwed it all back together. Was told by the spares place it would be 70 notes to change £55 saved!

The belt has probably snapped.
