American Food Dehydrator?

Just bought this dehydrator from America but when I plugged it in the motor burnt out. Contacted the company only to be told that they will not work in this country. My question is Can the motor in the unit be replaced? The motor operates a fan which is located in the lid. The dehydrator is a round unit approx. 15 inches in diameter. The lid has about 2.5-3.0 inches space to fit a new motor. Can anyone help?

The reason the motor burnt out was because UK voltage is 240volts, America is around 120 volts so it fried the motor. I suspect that the only place to get a new motor is from America, more expence, but that will be 120 volts, unless they make 240 volt motors your stumped. If you need to use American made electroncs in this country, you need a step down transfomer. Most probably cheaper to dump it and cut your losses. Always check the voltage BEFORE plugging it in. Doh!
