Freezer will not freeze?

I have a Beko tall freezer which the red and orange lights are lit but the green light will not come on. It also will not freeze, it starts to make a noise but then cuts out? Any ideas please as I can not afford an engineer or to buy a new one.

is it frost free?
if not the orange light is normally super freeze witch over rides the thermosat. switch off only green light should show .the noise if like a whirr followed by a click indicates a overheated compressor switch off leave overnight and try again.
