Hi My Renault Megane has broken down, i checked the electrics - wind screen wipers, music, electric windows - all work..

when i turn the key to start the engine, it doesn't make any noise.. does this mean that the engine's gone.. someone mentioned that the start up motor doesn't work, how much will this cost to fix?

Could be the starter. Get something long and carefully hit the starter motor body, then try again. If it now starts then you need a new starter. Reconditioned motors cost about £80+ and it's perhaps a 1 hour job to replace it so expect between £50 and £90 for labour.
