mcculloch chainsaw kickback gard works in reverse?

E.G. push gard forward and it brakes chain, pull back and it frees the chain which is wrong it should brake when gard is pushed back towards machine as in a kick back situation, how can i fix this does anyone know

if you have your hand on the top bar where you are supposed to have it and the saw kicks back, your hand will shove the chain brake lever forward, braking the chain so yes as has been said it is working correctly.

Joe, I don't know...why are you asking for answers when it is working correctly?

As you have already been told, that is how it is supposed to work, so IT IS WORKING CORRECTLY

I think you either need to read the instruction manual sharpish or return the saw to the shop you purchased it from before you injure yourself.

No it is not working corrctly when the bar is hit from the front the chain still runs free, why would i ask for answers if it was working correctly, i do love those who have the solution instead of sarchasm ta
