they are usually fitted into the hub carrier and sensors take their readings off either the bearings or exciter rings on cv joints or hubs

jack car up onto axle stands, remove the front wheel, sensors are pushed in to brake pads, pull out, follow the wire to connector and undo. same if you have sensors on rear wheels.
