Repair dial on hotpoint WML 520?

The dial (1-13 andABC) on my Hotpoint WML 520 does not click. Do I need a new dial? and if so does it just pull off?

its quite common for the knob to split and although it still turns it wont change the programme. New knob required but you'll have to remove the front board from the black plastic holder to access the knob from behind. Its only 6 screws. Simples
