cant unlock van door?

i have an escort 55 van when i lock the drivers door with the key it wont unlock so i have to open passenger door and open from inside

either worn lock or key,try your spare key and maybe get a new key cut,take your old key in to get the correct number,give the lock a spray with some grease,if no better you will need a new lock built up to suit your key number.
