Pilot ok. constant popping (gas igniting) on burner. faulty valve?

My old floor standing Potterton Kingfisher. pilot light stays lit ok. Constant popping as small amounts of gas are ignited by the pilot. Could this be faulty valve or thermo couple. This is gas at the burner when no demand to the valve

It is a faulty gas valve, in fact I would class it as at risk.
Get a RGI to change the valve, I suggest you turn the gas off to the boiler completely for your own safety in the meantime.
