The soap dispenser in our dishwasher does not lock when you close it. Is there any way I can fix this myself? I'm not sure of they make and model. I think it's a whirlpool and I know it is pretty old. I just don't have cash to buy a new one right now and I am soo tired of washing dishes by hand. Thank you for all the help!

we have the same trouble, the spring release has let go. we just throw the soap tablet into the machine and turn it on. Seems to work..
