how can I fix my punto juddering in 1st gear?

Loads of forums but with no definate answers... how can I fix my fiat punto sport active 2002 from intermittently juddering when in 1st and reverse??

If it is the rocker cover gasket than I think that it is unlikely to have any effect on the clutch plate.
Go with wickhams advice of getting them to first check engine/gearbox mountings. I guess that if this does not resolve the issue they should investigate further-- ie get their opinion on the operation of the clutch.

So should I wait until the oil leak is fixed to see how things go? Its the rocker(??) cover gasket, only had the car a week its obviously been an ongoing issue which the previous owner didnt bother getting fixed so the engine looks quite oily

As Wickham says,. you now mention oil leak, it might be oil contamination of the clutch plate

Thank you. Its in garage Monday got an oil leak to sort out just wanted to know exactly what to tell the mechanic without sounding too girly...
